My father was Ambassador Silcairney Gueye, a Senegalese diplomat and a poet of the Négritude generation. He believed that a people who recover their heritage and culture recover everything else in time. He died in 2023, and what he left me reads more like an assignment than a memory.

Through HALFA, the nonprofit I founded in 2012, we have carried gynecological care to women across Africa who waited far too long to be examined by someone who looked at them kindly.
